We are delighted to announce that the GTR's Prancing Pinocchio won 'Best Turned Out Horse' in the 2022 St Teresa's Hospice Pantomime Horse Race which took place on Wednesday 6 July at Catterick Racecourse.
The award was given to the team that had raised the most sponsorship money by the start of the race and Prancing Pinocchio clocked in at a whopping £480.00.
Thank you to everyone for their donations, support and words of encouragement. It was very much appreciated and it is fantastic that we were able to raise so much money for this very worthwhile cause. St Teresa's is a charity based in Darlington that provides palliative and end of life care, and support to residents of South Durham & North Yorkshire and their carers.
Prancing Pinocchio was powered by Jo Mawhinney (Office Manager) and Helga Pearson (Marketing Manager) with Ruth Allison (Youth Theatre Officer) as the trainer. There was some very strong competition on the day and Prancing Pinocchio made a valiant effort to come home fourth in the race. It was fast, it was brutal and it was hot!!
