Alan Bennett will read from his published diaries and from his latest play, The Habit of Art which opened at the National Theatre in November 2009 to rave reviews. The play explores the relationship between the poet W H Auden and the composer Benjamin Britten. Bennett's stage plays and films, The Madness of King George and The History Boys are just two highlights in his long and illustrious career. A new edition of his poignant memoir, A Life Like Other People's and a new DVD collection of his TV work Alan Bennett at the BBC were released in 2009.
