Anne Hine from Stockton-on-Tees started writing poetry in the 1990s and her first pamphlet came out in 2001. She is a member of Vane Women, who promote and publish good writing from women living in the north-east, and who take their own writing seriously. Anne will be reading from some of her new work on nature, portraits, and stolen words. She is currently working towards another collection. Pru Kitching lives in Upper Weardale. She will be reading from The Krakow Egg, her second pamphlet, which was recently published by Arrowhead Press. Like Anne, she is a member of Vane Women. Pru has just received a Northern Promise Award from New Writing North, which she is using to begin work on her first full collection of poetry. Poetry & Pints is held on the first Monday of the month in the Georgian Theatre's bar. The series encourages both the participation and appreciation of published and unpublished poetry and audiences are warmly invited to share poems in the second half of the evening. The theatre bar is open from 7pm. Further details: from the Box Office on 01748 825252. |
