Step into a world of storms, spirits and spellbinding storytelling as RADS presents Shakespeare's The Tempest.
Richmond Amateur Dramatic Society returns to The Georgian Theatre Royal this summer with Shakespeare's enchanting The Tempest, running 23–25 July and 29 July–1 August.
No strangers to tackling ambitious productions, RADS take on one of Shakespeare's most magical and imaginative plays. Set on a mysterious island where magic and mischief abound, The Tempest tells a compelling story of betrayal, revenge, romance and ultimately forgiveness.
When the exiled Duke of Milan, Prospero, conjures a mighty storm to shipwreck his enemies, events unfold that test loyalties, kindle new love and unleash plenty of chaos. With the help of the spirit Ariel, the headstrong Caliban and a cast of unforgettable characters, Shakespeare weaves a spellbinding tale that continues to captivate audiences more than 400 years after it was written.
Director Beki Stevenson said: "I'm thrilled to be directing The Tempest. The themes of betrayal, revenge and, of course, a little romance are timeless and still resonate with audiences today. Performing this show in The Georgian Theatre Royal has allowed us to create an immersive world that really brings the production to life in such an intimate setting."
