Built by actor-manager Samuel Butler in 1788, the Georgian Theatre
Royal was managed by Butler along with his circuit of theatres at Beverley,

the theatre, its history and what's on offer. There is something for
everyone: professional productions to suit every taste including music,
comedy, drama, pantomime and dance; workshops and youth theatre classes,
free events in the first floor bar on Mondays, and much more.
