Visitors are invited to step back in time this summer with a special evening that combines the fascinating history of The Georgian Theatre Royal with the chance to sample award-winning Yorkshire gin.
Taking place on Thursday 27 August at 7pm, the Theatre's popular guided tour is being given a spirited twist, with a gin tasting experience provided throughout the evening by the award-winning Yorkshire Dales Distillery.
The guided tour will reveal the remarkable story of the building, and the many characters connected to it.
It will be punctuated by three gin tastings, giving visitors the opportunity to sample a selection of Yorkshire Dales Distillery's award-winning spirits while learning more about the craftsmanship behind each one.
Along the way, guests will also discover the colourful world of Georgian theatre, its actors and audiences, and the secrets hidden within the historic building. And what better accompaniment than a drink that would have been very familiar to many Georgians? Gin was one of the most popular spirits of the 18th century and was a favourite tipple enjoyed in taverns, coffee houses and homes across the country.
