Dyad Productions present an unforgettable evening of literature, feminism, and fierce creativity.
We’re thrilled to welcome the award-winning Dyad Productions back to The Georgian Theatre Royal with their bold new show A Room of One’s Own on Friday 18 July at 7.30pm.
This 21st-century take on Virginia Woolf’s iconic 1928 essay is a wry, entertaining and powerful piece of theatre. Performed by the brilliant Rebecca Vaughan – whose past performances in I, Elizabeth, Female Gothic, Austen’s Women and Christmas Gothic have captivated our audiences – this show is a must-see for anyone interested in literature, feminism, or simply a cracking night at the theatre.
The production takes us on a witty and incisive journey through the history of gender and creativity, shining a light on the lives of literary icons such as Charlotte Brontë, Jane Austen, Aphra Behn – and even Shakespeare’s imagined sister, Judith. It’s clever, provocative, and often laugh-out-loud funny, all while asking important questions about where we are now and how far we’ve come.
If you’ve seen any of Dyad’s previous productions at the Theatre, you’ll know you’re in for a treat. Their shows are known for their razor-sharp writing, pitch-perfect performances and thought-provoking storytelling. A Room of One’s Own is no exception – a show that will amuse you, challenge you, and maybe even change the way you see the world.
