Local Artists Invited to Exhibit in The Gallery in 2026

Calling all local artists – exhibit your work at The Georgian Theatre Royal’s exhibition gallery.

We are inviting local artists to take part in the next season of The Gallery, the Theatre's popular exhibition space, which will run from February to November 2026.

Following the success of the Theatre’s first exhibition, which opened in March 2025 and continues until the end of October 2025, we are now looking for new local talent to brighten the walls of the Gallery Bar. The space offers a fantastic opportunity for artists to display and sell their work in a historic venue that attracts visitors from across the region and beyond.

“This first season has been incredible,” says Jordie Gilpin, Co-Curator at The Georgian Theatre Royal. “We’ve welcomed such a diverse range of artwork, and it’s been wonderful to see audiences engaging with and enjoying the pieces. We’re really excited to offer more local artists the chance to exhibit in 2026 and share their work with our visitors.”

Artists aged 16 and over are invited to submit up to three pieces for consideration. Submissions can include existing work or new creations. There are no restrictions on theme, style, or medium, but all artwork must be suitable for a public audience.

The exhibition is free to visit and open to the public during the Theatre’s Box Office opening hours. In lieu of commission, artists are asked to donate 20% of any sales to The Georgian Theatre Royal, a registered charity supporting arts and culture in the community.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on Monday 3 November 2025.
