New writers' group finds home at the Theatre

A newly established writing group will be finding plenty of artistic inspiration when it holds its weekly meetings in the bar of the Georgian Theatre Royal.

Ragbag Writers has been set up to bring people together who enjoy writing and want to share their enthusiasm with others in an informal setting. There will be a set theme each week and members will have the opportunity to read their writings to the group.

The first meeting will take place on Wednesday 6 September between 11am and 1pm but this is not a set day and time and will change from time to time to try and suit everyone. The group is totally free and refreshments will be available to purchase. For more information email Dion at: sunsbeach@yahoo.com

Group organiser, Dion Child said: “This is an excellent opportunity to bring like-minded folk together. There will be no pressure at all to write or read anything and some people may just want to come along to listen and make friends. We are really pleased to be basing ourselves at the Theatre and make use of the relaxing space of its cosy bar.”

The Theatre’s recently refurbished bar offers a convenient town centre meetings venue with drinks at very reasonable prices. If you would like to discuss holding events here, please contact Jordie Gilpin, Bar Manager, on 01748 823710 or email: bar@georgiantheatreroyal.co.uk
