Richmond Operatic Society Brings Beauty and the Beast to Life

Step into the enchanted world of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast as Richmond Operatic Society brings this timeless tale to life at The Georgian Theatre Royal this May.

The stage is set for magic, music and enchantment as Richmond Operatic Society presents Disney’s beloved musical Beauty and the Beast at The Georgian Theatre Royal later this month.

Running over two weeks – from Wednesday 21 to Saturday 24 May and again from Wednesday 28 to Saturday 31 May – this spectacular production promises to captivate audiences of all ages with its timeless tale and unforgettable score.

Based on the Academy Award-winning animated film, the stage version tells the story of Belle, a bright, independent young woman from a quiet provincial town, and the Beast, a prince transformed by the spell of a mysterious enchantress. Only if the Beast can learn to love – and earn love in return – will the curse be lifted. But time is running out, and his fate hangs in the balance.

This heartwarming and magical story features all the much-loved songs written by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, including "Be Our Guest" and "Beauty and the Beast", along with additional songs by Menken and Tim Rice specially written for the stage adaptation.

Known for their high-quality, crowd-pleasing productions, Richmond Operatic Society has built a strong reputation for bringing musical theatre classics to life, and Beauty and the Beast promises to be another hit in their repertoire.

Whether you’re a lifelong fan of the story or experiencing it for the first time, this is a theatrical treat that promises spectacle, romance, humour and heart – perfect for families, Disney lovers and theatregoers alike.

Tickets are available now and early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
