Pam Myers has been crowned champion apple knitter in this year's pantomime 'knitathon' after making a staggering 246 apples!

The Georgian Theatre Royal put out an appeal this autumn for knitted apples that could be used in its pantomime Snow White and many people picked up their needles to help.

To add a bit of extra fun, a trophy was offered to the person who knit the most apples, which has been won by Pam Myers (pictured) from Richmond. Many people took part in the project and overall more than 2,000 apples were received in all shapes, sizes and colours.

This is the second year running that Pam has received the champion knitter award having also won the title last year for the most number of leaves knitted for Jack and the Beanstalk.

"We would like to offer our warmest congratulations to Pam and say a huge thank you to everyone who made apples, whether it was hundreds or just the one. They are all wonderful and have been put to good use, either as part of the show or to decorate the Theatre," said Clare Allen, Theatre Chief Executive and director of Snow White.

The specially engraved trophy was kindly donated by CJ Lightfoot Jewellers of Richmond.

Snow White runs until Sunday 8 January 2017. Tickets are available from the Box Office or via this website.
