On Saturday 25 March, Richmond attractions are throwing open their doors and waiving admission charges for Richmondshire residents.
The Georgian Theatre Experience is just one of the attractions taking part in the scheme along with The Green Howards Museum, Richmondshire Museum and Richmond Castle.
All you need to do is bring proof of Richmondshire residency, such as a utilities or council tax bill, to secure your free admission.
In addition to free entry at the charging venues, there will also be special 25% Love Being Local discount in The Shop at The Station and a host of great deals available to local people with vouchers for Richmondshire Leisure Trust (half price swims, beauty and health club) to pick up from the participating attractions on the day itself.
"Even if you’ve lived here for years and visited our fabulous attractions many times, there’s always something fresh to see," says Lynda Powell, Director at The Green Howards Museum and Chair of the Welcome to Richmond group who co-ordinate the annual residents' day.
"Pick up some juicy Georgian backstage gossip at the Theatre, enjoy the Richmondshire Museum before their official season opening in April, with its additions to the Cruck House gallery and a new family trail. Visit the Castle to see the refreshed Cockpit garden and find out what it would have been like to be local in Norman times. We've not been in Richmond for quite that long, but 2023 marks the Green Howards Museum's 50th birthday here at home in the middle of the market place, so why not pop in on the day and find out our plans for this important year."
