Visiting the theatre may be slightly different to usual so we have provided the below information to answer any questions you may have before attending. Our Front of House team will be on hand during your visit to help with any questions you have on the day.
Do I have to wear a face covering? There is no longer a legal requirement to wear a face covering. The government suggests that you continue to wear a face covering in crowded and enclosed spaces where you may come into contact with other people you do not normally meet. The Georgian Theatre Royal accepts that each audience member will take a personal decision on wearing a mask in the Theatre, having regard to these Government guidelines and the intimate nature of the building.
What happens if a performance is postponed or cancelled? Our Box Office team will contact you directly, and you will have the choice of a full refund or changing your tickets to a different performance (or donating your tickets to the Theatre!).
How close will I be to other people in the auditorium? All our performances are being sold at full capacity (155 seats). The Theatre has a new ventilation system that will be in full operation, pumping in 100% fresh air from outside.
Will there still be spaces available for people in wheelchairs?Yes. Wheelchair spaces are available at every performance. Please contact our Box Office on 01748 825252 if there will be a wheelchair user in attendance.
How does your air ventilation work?We have a new ventilation unit that pulls in 100% fresh air from outside. Air is then extracted at the front and back of the auditorium and stage.
How often is the theatre cleaned? The Theatre and bar areas are cleaned regularly throughout the day and given a deep clean after every performance using an industrial antiviral fogging machine.
What happens if I can no longer attend my performance? Please do not visit the Theatre if you, or anyone in your household, is displaying symptoms of COVID-19 – please check the NHS website. As soon as possible, please contact our Box Office team and we will provide a full refund or, if preferred, attempt to change the dates of your tickets or issue a credit voucher.
